Why gopis were married / Note

once Brahma took away the gopas of Vrindavan and kept them in Brahmalok in a sleeping condition. As a result, Krishna assumed the form of all the gopas. On the wedding day of Radha with Abhimanyu, Krishna in the form of Abhimanyu got married to Radha. In this way he also married the other gopis - Lalita, Vishakha, Sudevi, Rangadevi, Chitra, Tungavidya, Indulekha, Champaklata, Rupamanjari, Ratimanjari, Labangamanjari, Rasamanjari, Manjumali, Kasturika, Anuradha and Chandravali.

Note
The Husband of Body is Through Weddings Which is Temporary
The Husband of Soul(Gopis)is Supersoul(Krishna) Which is Eternal

Anjali

The Gopikas observe Katyayani vrata to reach Lord Krishna. The vrata entails early rising, bathing in the river and praising the Lord.

The Gopikas rise early, and leaving their clothes on the banks of the river, they step into the river, to have their bath.Krishna takes their clothes away, and climbs up a tree. Having had their bath, the women look for their clothes, and when they realise Krishna has taken them away, they beg Him to return the clothes.

Why does Krishna take away their clothes?

The sastras say that one should not bathe without any clothes on, and since the Gopikas violated this rule, Krishna wants to teach them a lesson.

At the same time, He wants to forgive them. So He suggests that they put their hands together and do an anjali to Him. Their mistake will then be forgiven. The Lord melts when devotees do an anjali — that is the bringing together of one's palms. He at once forgives them for their mistakes.

Thirst

This pond (talaiya) is situated near Vamsivata. When the gopis became thirsty during rasa, Sri Syamasundara made this pond with His flute and satisfied all the gopis with its luscious water.

vishaka

Visakha Devi's other form is the Yamuna River. Whenever Sri Madhava sees Visakha Devi, He immediately thinks of Sri Radha; whenever Sri Radha sees the syama (dark blue) waters of the Yamuna River, She immediately thinks of Madhava.

Sri Visakha Devi appears in Gaura-lila as Sri Ramananda Raya.

Lord Shiva as Gopi and Gopi Bhava

Gopisvara http://vrindavana.dasya.com/index.php/Gopisvara
"When Narada recited prayers glorifying Lord Shiva as the supreme controller of the universe, Lord Rudra, the best of Vaisnavas, at once covered his ears and angrily replied, 'I am not the Lord of the universe, nor an object of Krishna's mercy! I am just a poor soul always hankering for the favor of the servants of His servants.' "(Brihad-Bhagavatamrita 1.3.9-11)

Cakalesvara Mahadev
At Govardhana he showed a beautiful example of how he loved the association of devotees Cakalesvara Mahadev. Sanatan Goswami was living right next to him at Manasi-ganga. At that time so many mosquitoes were eating up Sanatan Goswami day and night. It was disturbing his service because he was trying to write books, do his bhajan and there were swarms of mosquitoes. So he was thinking, "I can better do my service somewhere else. I will leave this place.

When Lord Siva understood he was thinking like this and he was his next-door neighbor as Cakalesvara Mahadev deity he couldn't bare the thought of separation from Sanatan Goswami. So he appeared in a beautiful brahmana form and told Sanatan Goswami to stay one more night and see. Sanatan Goswami said, "I will stay one more night." And then Lord Siva went to the demigod in charge of mosquitoes and said tell your mosquitoes not to bother Sanatan at all. So not a single mosquito came that way after that.

Bamboo

Everyday Krishna would visit the garden and say to all the plants, “I love you.”

The plants were very happy and responded, saying, “Krishna, we love You too!”

One day Krishna rushed quickly into the garden with a sad look on his face. He went to the bamboo plant, and the bamboo asked him, “Krishna, what´s wrong?”

Krishna said, “I have something to ask you, but it is very difficult."

The bamboo said, “Tell me. Whatever it is, I will give it to you.”

So Krishna said, “I need your life. I need to cut you.”

The bamboo thought for a while and then said, “You don´t have any other choice? You don’t have any other way?”

Krishna said, “No, there is no other way.”

The bamboo plant said, “Okay then, I surrender. Do whatever you need to do,” and gave himself into the hands of the Lord.

So Krishna cut off one section of the bamboo and made holes in it. And when he cut it and carved the holes, the bamboo cried in pain.

Krishna then made a beautiful flute out of that bamboo piece, and this flute was with him all the time. 24 hours a day that flute was with Krishna, so much so that Radha and the Gopis were all jealous of the flute.

They said, “Look, Krishna is our Lord, but yet we get to spend only a little time with him. But with you he sleeps and wakes up! When he plays music he is kissing you! All the time you are with him!”

The Gopis then asked the bamboo, “Tell us your secret. Why does the Lord treasures you so much?”

The bamboo replied, “The secret is that I gave myself up completely, and let him do with me whatever he wanted. I trusted that whatever he did was right for me. In the process i had to undergo a lot of pain, but I willingly went through it in order to become his instrument. Even today the Lord does whatever he wants with me, and having surrendered myself to him fully, even pain is joyful. There is nothing like the joy of being a flute in Krishna's hands, and letting his song flow through you in whatever way he wishes."

So, dear friends, this is what complete surrender is: allowing God to do whatever He wants with you, whenever He wants, in whatever way He wants.

Trust Him completely and have full faith in Him, for he is the omnipresent All-Doer and the ever-compassionate silent Witness, who dwells within your heart as your best bosom Friend & ever well-wisher.

Know that you are always in His Hands, and that your life is His .

Universal Form

One day Advaita Acharya overcome by the mood of the gopis began to dance, while all the devotees sang with intense feelings. He danced in joy and at the same moment in great humility and distress he fell to the ground holding a straw in his teeth and began to roll as if intoxicated by the divine nectar of love of God. Advaita continued to dance for several hours, but the other devotees were exhausted unable to keep up with Him. Then finally the devotees pacified him, making him sit down, and they sat around him. Finding Advaita somewhat tranquil, Srivas Pandit, Ramai and a few others went for their baths. But soon again Advaita was overcome with feeling distress and as it gradually increased in intensity he began to roll in Srivas' courtyard.

Lord Chaitanya after some work, was resting in His house. Advaita's feelings of humility and distress became known to the Lord. The Lord always soothes away His devotees distress and worries. So Lord Chaitanya came to see Advaita. Seeing Advaita supine in Srivas' courtyard, He took him by the hand leading him into the temple and shut the doors. Giving Advaita a consoling smile the Lord said, "Listen Acharya! Tell Me what is your desire right now, what is to be done?" Advaita said, "O Lord, You are essence of all the Vedas. I want only You. What else is there to want?" The Lord laughed slightly and replied, "Here I am in person, what more do you want?" Advaita insisted, "What you say is true, here you are before me the Absolute truth, yet I would like to see some of Your mystic opulence." The Lord softly asked, “Tell Me what You desire?" Advaita said, "My Lord, I intensely desire to see what Arjun had seen long ago."

*As soon as Advaita had spoken these words, Advaita saw a chariot in the midst of a raging battlefield, millions of soldiers were engaged in combat all around the chariot. Sitting inside this chariot was the beautiful blackish four handed form of Lord Krishna holding conch, mace, lotus and disc in each of His hands. Advaita was right then beholding the Universal form of Lord Krishna. All the planets and stars like sun, moon, and mountains, rivers, oceans, forests were visible within this wondrous manifestation of Krishna.*

He saw Arjun standing before this Universal form with folded hands offering words of prayer and praise. He saw millions of pairs of eyes, and millions of open mouths with huge licking flames exuding out of them. All the atheists and sinful demons were being sucked into this mighty conflagration to be consumed. The fault finders, and the heartless ones who perpetrate violence on others all burned in the flames from the mouth of Lord Chaitanya. Advaita was blessed with the Lord's special mercy and therefore he could see this marvelous Universal form of Lord Chaitanya. As Advaita saw this Universal form he began to cry in great ecstasy due to his intense love for the Lord and falling to his knees in great humility he begged the Lord for His eternal association as his Lord and master.

The festival Jhulon commemorates the love relationship of Radha and Krishna as was done by the Gopinis. It is on this day Radha and Krishna sat side-by-side in a swing of flowers prepared under a Kadamba tree and unfolded their tales of love. This romantic festivity is a special occasion for the young lovers. According to Baishnab Padabali, Jhulon is the starter of the season of love and emotion among the lovers all around the world. The Padabali describes the courtship of Radha and Krishna and the tremendous pain taken by Radha to prepare herself for her lover's call. Radha used to walk on paths laden with thorns on bare feet to prepare herself to go out on Abhisar at night when Kanhaiya's bansuriya sounded. As a devoted lover Radha followed her love not withstanding any difficulties.
